A blurred photograph of a man seated before a fire at a shrine, with a flame rising from a small fire pit in the foreground. The man wears a brown-gold headwrap, has a vertical tilak with white markings on his forehead, and is bare-chested with a reddish-brown shawl draped over his shoulder and a white cloth behind him. He holds a flaming object or ritual item near the fire. Behind him is an elaborate golden halo-like backdrop with bright golden and green decorative lights, and a silver figure of a bull appears at the left edge. The setting suggests a homa or fire ritual before a deity murti.2017-12-10A photograph of a bearded man seated in front of a large ornate golden sunburst backdrop, wearing a black turban with a leopard-print cloth, a red-orange garment with rudraksha malas across the chest, a gold necklace and sacred forehead markings. In the foreground a bright fire flame burns. A silver lion-shaped ceremonial object and brass lamp stands flank the scene, with green foliage and a microphone stand visible. The man is the probable Swamiji shown in ritual dress, with rudraksha malas, gold necklace and ornate turban cues, seated before the fire.2017-12-10A blurred photograph of a fire pit lined with yellow-painted bricks, with a bright flame rising from it in the foreground. Behind the fire, a seated figure in a saffron-orange robe and a dark head covering with a gold band sits in front of a golden, ornate backdrop with green lights. The figure has a white tilak on the forehead and gold armlets, and appears to be tending the fire. A silver statue of a bull stands to the left beside a stone pillar, and a woven basket is visible at lower right. The figure's appearance is consistent with the page's reference to a person but is not clear enough to confirm, so identity is uncertain. The setting suggests a homa or fire ritual.2017-12-10December 10 20172017-12-10A photograph of a fire ritual at night. Two bare-backed men in orange cloths and orange head cloths stand in the foreground, one holding a metal vessel, beside a large flame. Seated on an ornate gold throne with a peacock-style back is a man in a rust-orange turban and orange robe, wearing a long gold-beaded garland and a gold necklace, with a red-orange mark on his forehead. The setting has colourful hanging decorations overhead. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure wears a turban, orange robes, a long garland and ornate gold, matching the page's reference to Swamiji at this event.2017-02-21Photograph of a ritual fire at night with a man seated on an ornate gold throne behind it. The seated man wears a maroon turban, an orange-brown robe and a long gold necklace, and raises one hand in a blessing gesture. Two people in the foreground, seen from behind with bare backs, wear orange cloths over their shoulders and gold armlets, facing the fire. Flames and a brass vessel are in the lower part of the frame, with string lights in the background. Swamiji (probable) is seated on the throne, identified by his maroon turban, orange-brown robe and gold necklace.2017-02-21June 23 20172017-06-23A man with a long dark hair bun wrapped in a leopard-print headcloth sits cross-legged on a silver-backed seat in front of a large golden sunburst backdrop. He wears a rust-red saffron-toned robe, a rudraksha mala with a gold necklace, and bare upper arms with armbands. A small silver nandi bull stands at left, brass oil lamps and lamp stands with trident-topped finials surround him, and a fire pit with a bright flame sits in the foreground beside a wicker basket and brass pots. This is a probable Swamiji depiction in an in-person ritual-workshop setting; the visible cues are the swept-back hair, leopard headcloth, ornate necklace and rudraksha mala.2017-12-10A photograph of a seated man on an ornate red-upholstered throne with gilded carved armrests, beside a large brass fire vessel with tall orange flames rising from it. Several pieces of wood and small offerings sit on a tray near the flame, and a dark figure's arm reaches toward the fire. The setting is a dim hall with a framed picture on the wall behind. The scene resembles a homa fire ritual. The seated man shows long swept-back hair and a rudraksha-style bead necklace, a combination of cues for a person appearance, though the image is dark and the identification is uncertain.2012-07-29 +1 copies
