In the foreground, a priest with a shaved head and an orange-and-cream shawl holds a lit multi-tiered brass lamp aloft during aarti. Flanking the entrance are painted stucco guardian figures with multiple arms, gold crowns and jewellery, and hanging strands of black beads and small brass bells frame the doorway. A pedestal lamp stands at the right edge.2014-11-26August 04 20172017-08-04A ritual scene in a temple sanctum with painted guardian figures flanking a golden throne. A seated figure in a rust-red robe with a rudraksha mala sits on a green-cushioned golden throne draped with a tiger-skin cloth, while a priest in orange robes holds a lit lamp or flame near his face. A woman in an orange sari with a red border kneels at lower left with folded hands in prayer. Oil lamps stand on the floor and hang from above, and the golden peetha base is decorated with flowers. The painted figures have four arms and tall crowns. The seated figure appears to be a statue or deity murti, with the person being honoured in a ritual aarti-like offering.2013-05-11May 17 20132013-05-17Photograph of a puja inside a temple shrine.
