Foreground umbrellas with red, orange and blue panels painted with flowers and bird motifs are held aloft on long wooden poles. A tall figure at left has long dark hair, a white shawl, a red and white flower garland and a gold necklace, and appears to be in a ceremonial position. Most others wear orange or saffron robes and ochre shawls, with some women in red and orange saris and white shirts among them. A stage structure and orange flags stand in the background under bright sky.2009-01-01Outdoor festival procession at a Kumbh Mela-style event, with a large crowd pressing behind yellow metal barricades on a sunny street lined with tents and orange flags. In the foreground a man in an orange turban and saffron wrap with a heavy beaded necklace sits on a decorated vehicle beside a drummer's drums. A bare-chested man in white lifts a tall orange ceremonial umbrella on a red pole, and a person at right wears a red and gold headdress. Uniformed police stand along the barricades.2016-04-22A dense street procession in daylight with a large crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis pressing around a central figure. A saffron-robed man with a long garland of marigolds and red flowers walks under a multicoloured canopy umbrella with a fringed edge and painted panels, held aloft on a pole. Two smaller orange and red decorated fans or canopies flank the group. Devotees including women in white and a child with a flower plate are visible at the edges, and banners hang on a building behind. A shaved-headed elder in orange appears beside the garlanded figure. The central figure has long hair and orange clothing, but the appearance cue is only partly clear, so identity remains uncertain.2010-02-02June 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesDecember 27 20072007-12-27 +1 copiesDecember 23 20072007-12-23July 19 20162016-07-19December 30 20082008-12-30December 27 20092009-12-27
