2011 - Glimpses Of KailashYatraA procession on a steep mountain path in the Himalayas, with rocky cliffs and green vegetation behind. A figure in orange robes with long dark hair sits raised on a wooden palanquin, one hand lifted holding a trident (trishul), carried forward by bearers. Around them walk devotees, including a person in a red vest over orange cloth, a man in a tan jacket, and people in orange caps and backpacks. Roadside wooden stalls with seated vendors and a tin-roofed shelter line the route. Identity is uncertain from appearance; the figure is described by role as a palanquin-borne holy figure.2006-05-24August 09 20112011-08-09May 24 20062006-05-24Outdoor photo on a barren, grassy mountain slope with prayer flags strung behind a group of pilgrims in orange and red clothing. In the centre, a figure with long dark hair wears an orange knitted cap, an orange robe and a leopard-print shawl, and reaches out to touch the hand of a person in an orange hooded garment. Other people nearby wear orange hoods, a blue down jacket and a pink bucket hat, and one wears glasses.2012-08-08August 09 20112011-08-09A photograph of a group walking barefoot along a dirt road through a wooded hillside, with houses and a forested slope behind them. In the centre, a man with long dark hair and a red bindi, wearing a loose saffron-orange shawl over his body and carrying a long wooden staff, leads the walk. Around him, orange-clad sannyasi-style followers in orange caps and wraps walk alongside, including a woman in a pink sari and an older woman in orange. A cameraman in a white shirt films from the right, and parked vehicles sit behind the group. The central figure has distinctive long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, consistent with a probable Swamiji (probable) leading the yatra walk.2006-05-23July 02 20082008-07-02Outdoor photo on a grassy Himalayan hillside strewn with boulders, with a concrete path in the foreground. A figure in a saffron-orange robe, orange turban-style head covering and a large gold-toned bead necklace walks centrally, with a woman in an orange sari-style garment beside them. Two companions walk alongside: one in a red top and white trousers carrying a white plastic bag, and one in a white kurta with a striped knit cap carrying a red bag. A figure in a yellow robe stands behind. Several people are visible, walking on the path.2010-09-27Outdoor photograph on a rocky, grassy hillside in the mountains. A man with long dark swept-back hair, wearing an orange-red kurta, an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala, stands on a rock with one arm raised and a thin rod or stick in his hand, smiling as he addresses a group. Several devotees sit below in orange shawls and saffron clothing, including a woman in a green top and dupatta, and a man in a white kurta with an orange shawl stands with his back to the camera. A figure in a yellow shirt stands at the left edge. The appearance of the central man with long hair, orange robes and rudraksha mala is a probable Swamiji candidate; he is seen physically in the scene, so the appearance is labelled Swamiji (probable).2006-05-26A green Himalayan forest path with large moss-covered boulders on the left and dense ferns and trees on both sides. A group of pilgrims walks up the paved stone trail. In the centre, a man in a grey jacket and a man in a light jacket carry a palanquin-style litter, while a woman in a dark blue shawl walks beside it. A figure in a saffron-orange robe walks on the right, and more people in the distance follow along the trail toward a mountain valley.2008-06-30 +1 copiesJune 30 20082008-06-30
