A large group of children sits cross-legged on a stone floor in a plain room with pale peach walls, many holding white paper and pencils as if taking notes. In the upper right, a man in a white dhoti with a shawl stands at a small stage beside a statue of a seated deity dressed in orange and red. Behind him sits a woman in a white sari, and a black speaker stands near the stage. Most children wear white shirts, while others wear green, yellow, red and blue. The scene looks like a gurukul or kalpataru class session.

Most wear white shirts and white dhoti-style or white uniform clothing, while others wear yellow, orange, green and light blue garments. A girl in an orange saffron-coloured dress sits in the centre foreground beside a girl in white. Patterned cloth mats lie on the floor at the right, and a small table with a cloth stands against the far wall beside a stage area with orange and white decoration. Several adults stand or sit at the back of the room.

A photograph of a large hall where a seated crowd of many schoolchildren in mixed casual and school clothes, including yellow, blue, red and white shirts, sits on the floor facing a front area. In the foreground, a bare-chested man in a deep red-orange saffron garment with a golden border and a matching red-orange turban sits on a beige plastic chair with long hair and rudraksha-style wrist beads, appearing to address the children. Another person in a white dhoti with gold border stands at the right, and a woman in white stands at the left near the wall. White papers lie on the floor and a plastic chair row fills the right side under ceiling fans and fluorescent tube lights, with a pink wall behind.

A photograph of a large hall where many boys and young men sit cross-legged on mats in rows, eyes closed or looking forward, many with small brass plates and oil lamps beside them. In the foreground a bald man in white dhoti and shawl with a gold-bordered cloth sits with hands resting, a small deity murti and offerings on a blue-draped stand nearby. Behind him, a man in orange clothing sits beside seated devotees in white. Red curtains, pillars with silver tops and gilt framed mirrors decorate the hall, and an orange bag rests in front of the group.

A large seated audience of young boys and teenagers dressed in white shirts and white clothing fills the hall, sitting cross-legged on the floor in close rows. Many wear lanyard badges around their necks. Several boys in the foreground look toward the front attentively, one wearing glasses and another with a thin beaded necklace. Yellow-and-gold ceremonial poles and yellow fabric appear at the top edge of the frame.

A large indoor hall with cream walls and polished white floor where many boys sit cross-legged on mats in white dhotis and brightly coloured shirts in red, green, yellow, blue and orange. Several adults stand near the front: a man in a saffron shirt and white dhoti at centre-left, a woman in a purple sari with a blue border standing centre, a woman in white near the right, and a man in a white dhoti with gold-bordered cloth and bare chest standing at right beside a small table with a microphone and papers. Wooden cabinets, chairs and red curtains line the room.
