Outdoor ritual in a leafy compound: a bald, bare-chested man with white and red marks on his forehead and a rudraksha crown, wearing a dark red-brown shawl, a long white flower garland and a rudraksha mala, holds up a silver lamp with a bright flame toward an offering. Beside him a monk in orange robes and a rudraksha mala holds a second silver lamp, and a man in orange holds a brass tray. Behind them devotees stand with folded hands, including a woman in white and men in orange. A blue and white banner with a saffron-robed portrait stands at right. Several people are visible in the scene.2012-04-27Photo 11724902 +1 copiesOutdoor temple-style ritual under a leafy tree. In the centre, an older man with a shaved head and a dark wrap, wearing a white jasmine garland with red flower accents, a rudraksha mala and gold bangles, raises a silver lamp with a flame toward his face. To his left, two shaved-headed men in saffron-orange robes hold a brass plate of flowers and a brass tray. Behind them, a woman in white and men in white dhotis and orange cloth stand near a white-rimmed stone platform and a small banner. Red and white floral offerings lie in the foreground. Appearance-based candidate for the figure with the lamp is uncertain, so the identity is not asserted.2012-04-27A photograph of a long-haired man in a saffron-orange robe standing barefoot on a woven mat, wearing a long garland of orange marigolds alternating with red and white flowers and a rudraksha mala hanging at the chest. He holds a brass bell and a small oil lamp with flame, eyes lowered in devotion. Behind him stand devotees in white dhotis and mundus with yellow and orange shawls, hands folded in anjali, and an orange-clad attendant to the right. Brass puja vessels and a lamp sit on the mat at left. Green foliage and a dangling orange streamer frame the outdoor ritual scene. Several people stand in the background, with about six to eight visible overall.2008-07-27July 27 20082008-07-27September 26 20092009-09-26January 01 20092009-01-01A procession on a paved courtyard under trees.
