A large black stone Shiva lingam with a horizontal white marking stands on a tiered black base in the centre of a reflecting pool. A single seated figure in orange robes and a matching orange head wrap sits on a red-and-white striped platform at the base of the lingam. The water reflects the lingam, the striped steps and the figure. Red-and-white striped stepped seating and blue tarpaulin edges frame the scene under an overcast sky. No readable text is visible.2009-08-22A large black stone Shivalinga with a silver yoni-band stands on a red-and-white striped base beside a water pool, its reflection mirrored on the still surface under a grey sky. A single seated figure in orange robes and an orange head wrap sits cross-legged on the platform at the base of the lingam, with the reflection of the figure and lingam visible in the water. Behind, red-and-white tiered steps are partly covered with blue tarpaulin. The orange-clad figure's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity, so the figure is described only by role as a seated devotee in saffron robes.2009-08-22August 22 20092009-08-22August 22 20092009-08-22A large polished black stone Shivling rises from a black lotus-carved yoni-peetha base on a red and white striped platform. Two people in orange saffron robes stand at its base: a man with long dark hair holds a lit flame or oil lamp toward the stone, while a shaved-headed companion in orange stands to the left. Brass and silver puja items, a flower garland and a kalasha-like vessel sit on the base. Construction scaffolding and blue tarpaulins fill the background, with a few distant people visible on the upper structure and a couple of devotees at the bottom edge.2009-09-29A large black stone Shivling stands on a black yoni pedestal at the centre of a red and white striped square platform, reflected in still water in front. A small orange-clad figure sits at the base of the lingam, with a silver-banded lingam top and a tree and cloudy sky behind. Red and white checkered walls frame the shrine. No physical people are visible beyond the small orange figure, which appears to be a statue or deity murti.2009-08-22A large black Shiva lingam stands on a striped red-and-white pedestal in a shallow reflecting pool, its reflection mirrored in the still water beneath. Near the base of the lingam sits a small orange-clad figure, visible only as a small statue or figure against the black stone. The walls around the pool are tiled in red and white stripes and checks, with a blue barrier behind and trees and a cloudy grey sky above. No people are visible in the scene.2009-08-22June 04 20132013-06-04A photograph outdoors at a stone-carving yard under a clear sky. A long-haired man in an orange dhoti and orange shawl with red beaded bracelets leans forward with his hands resting on a large dark stone Shiva linga set on a grey yoni-peetha base with red-painted edges, bowing his head to touch the linga. Behind him rows of smaller black lingas and white and grey carved stone figures stand on a concrete platform. On the left a shaven-headed man in orange robes and rudraksha mala stands with palms pressed together in namaste. Trees and a street lamp appear in the background.2011-11-10A large black stone Shivalinga with a multicolored flower garland draped over its upper shaft, resting on a dark yogapeetha-style base with a spout channel from which water flows. Above the base, several saffron-robed priests stand on a metal staircase and platform at the back, one wearing a flower garland. Behind the Shivalinga, rows of small stone lingams and dozens of saffron-clad people are seated on red-brick steps beneath trees. White cloth bands wrap the linga shaft. The scene is an outdoor abhishekam setting.2013-06-17August 27 20092009-08-27 +1 copiesJune 10 20132013-06-10 +1 copies
