A photograph of a rocky forest path with large grey boulders on either side. A worn reddish-brown dirt trail winds between the rocks through dry scrub and leafy bushes, under bare and green-leaved trees. No people, rituals or a person are visible in the scene.

A rocky hillside landscape with granite boulders on a ridge above, scrubby green bushes, thin bare saplings in the foreground, and reddish-brown earth cut into terraces. Scattered rocks lie on the grass, and several thin white poles stand upright on the slope. No people or ritual activity are visible. The photograph is taken outdoors in daylight with a pale overcast sky.

A small white-and-grey stone lingam sits on a flat concrete ledge in a rocky, dry hillside setting with scrubby bushes and dry grass. Ash or white powder is smeared across its top and along the ledge. No people are visible. The scene appears outdoors near Tiruvannamalai, with green leaves in the foreground.

A photograph of a shallow pool of rainwater on an ancient stone surface, with a carved stone relief partly submerged beneath the water. Dappled sunlight falls across the water, and leaves and green moss sit on the stones. Round stone paving stones line the right edge, and dry grass and roots grow along the top left bank. No people are visible in the scene; a small dark shape at the upper left edge is only a partial blur of vegetation.

A weathered stone lingam or yoni-shaped carved stone sits on a worn, dirt-covered floor beside a stone wall, surrounded by dry brown leaves and dark crevices. Dim light reveals pitted, lichen-spotted stone. At lower left, the blurred edge of a person's head or hair and a red-rimmed object are visible. No people are clearly in focus; the scene appears to be an archaeological temple ruin with a shrine stone.
