A rainbow-coloured garland arches over the top of the lingam and a small plaque is mounted on its face. A metal staircase climbs to the lingam's upper edge, where several people in orange and saffron robes stand and kneel, apparently performing abhishekam. Other figures in white and orange are seated on red tiered steps at left and right. Behind is a red multi-storey building with many windows, under a pale sky with birds in flight.2013-10-21 +1 copiesA large black Shiva lingam stands on a raised square black base in the middle of a still reflecting pool at dusk. The lingam is decorated with a colourful multi-coloured garland arch behind it and a silver plaque on its shaft. A metal staircase with railings rises from the water toward a platform with small figures, and rows of red seats fill the stepped amphitheatre around the pool. Several people in white and saffron clothing stand along the left side near the steps, and a red multi-storey building stands behind. The scene suggests a rudrabhishekam or puja setting, though the image itself shows only the empty sanctum-like pool and lingam.2013-11-04November 04 20132013-11-04September 26 20162016-09-26A photograph of a large black stone Shivling standing on a raised square platform in the middle of a shallow reflecting pool, its surface mirroring the red building behind. A red and white garland drapes the top of the lingam. Red-tiered stadium-style seating and white railings line the pool, with a white staircase on the left. Several saffron-robed figures stand on the steps and along the seating, appearing as small distant people. A red multi-storey building with unfinished upper floors rises behind, with trees at the left edge.2013-06-05A large black stone Shivalinga stands on a square platform in shallow water, its reflection clearly mirrored below. A garland of yellow, green and red flowers arches over the lingam, and water runs down its surface. Behind, a row of tiered red steps is filled with seated devotees in orange robes, and a red-brick building with a white railing stair rises beside it. On the stairs, several figures in orange or saffron robes stand and gather, some holding objects. Their clothing is orange, the sky pale blue, and a few small floating offerings dot the water.2013-10-28A large black stone Shiva lingam stands on a dark stone base in a water-filled rectangular tank, reached by a metal staircase scaffold on the left. Several priests in saffron-orange dhotis, some bare-chested, perform abhishekam, pouring from brass vessels and standing on the platform beside the lingam. A tiered stone seating area with rows of small lamps or vessels rises behind the tank, where many people in white clothes sit watching the ritual. Red and white striped border painted on the platform, red flags along the walls, and a grey sky overhead.2016-09-26September 26 20162016-09-26
