A night-time outdoor scene on a raised platform beneath a tree strung with colourful fairy lights and round paper lanterns in yellow, red and green. Behind them is an ornate golden arched frame with a green cloth backdrop, holding a group of deity murtis or icons draped in yellow and white flower garlands with red accents. A seated person on the left wears a tall ornate headdress, orange-gold robes and beaded necklaces and holds a small object while sitting before a lit oil lamp and offerings of fruit. On the right a person in white dhoti and white head covering with garlands sits with palms pressed together in namaskar in front of the deities. Their roles are priest and devotee. The scene resembles a puja or aarti; no clearly visible a person is identified. Two people are visible.2015-11-19November 19 20152015-11-19January 03 20162016-01-03November 19 20152015-11-19December 06 20162016-12-06May 02 20122012-05-02January 03 20152015-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03March 07 20162016-03-07December 06 20162016-12-06Night outdoor puja at a decorated altar before a tiered shrine adorned with garlands of orange and yellow flowers and a deity murti with a large garland. Two rearing lions flank the base above a carved serpent, with two brass oil lamps on the purple cloth-draped platform and fruit offerings below. On the left a seated man in a white dhoti with a gold border and white sacred ash marks on his forehead and arms holds a sprig of green leaves. Behind him a man in an orange robe and red turban, with white ash on his arms and a beaded mala, bends toward the altar. A small boy with ash marks stands at the left edge, and a teal cloth hangs on the right.2014-08-29A photograph of a festival procession at night: a richly decorated golden palanquin or ratha draped with white and red flower garlands, tassels in green, pink, blue and yellow, and a lit canopy above. Seated on the cushioned golden seat is a man with dark hair and a dark garment, visible mostly from the shoulders up. Standing beside the palanquin at right is a priest in a maroon and gold-striped dhoti and shawl, wearing a flower garland and holding a long staff, with a second man in saffron-orange cloth and a white dhoti beside him. A bright warm glow and bokeh lights surround the scene.2016-01-03
