A large bare-walled hall with a polished white floor is filled with seated people taking a communal meal from round metal plates. Many sit cross-legged on the floor, while volunteers in white dhotis and white shirts walk among them carrying plates and serving food. Women wear saris in red, yellow, pink, purple and blue, and children sit among the rows. Plastic chairs stand along the edges, and bags and backpacks lie scattered around.
