Behind them, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands with his hands pressed together. Other people in orange and white attire, including a woman in orange with grey hair and several men in white dhotis and saffron shawls, stand or sit around the room, some holding red fruit. A seated figure in saffron-orange robes and a saffron turban, with a rudraksha mala around the neck, rests one hand on the forehead of a kneeling man in a white shirt and white dhoti, who has a vibhuti mark on his forehead and holds his hands together in reverence. A silver bowl of fruit sits on a draped side table beside them, and a red cushioned seat is decorated with white and red flower garlands. Behind them, several onlookers stand, including women in pink, purple, orange and blue saris and men in white shirts, with some children at the right edge.2002-07-07 +2 copies2002 - Pada puja and blessing citizens in SalemJuly 01 20142014-07-01A photograph of a seated figure in an orange-saffron turban and orange-gold bordered cloth, bare-chested, wearing a long white flower garland with red and green accents, smiling with palms joined. Before them, a man in a white kurta and white trousers, with glasses, stands bending forward with palms pressed together in greeting. Behind them, several women in white and pale pink saris and white garments stand and clap or hold small colored sticks, with a white fan and a blue wall display in the background. A white cushioned seat is in the foreground. The scene suggests a devotional gathering with garlanding and greeting. The seated figure has distinctive saffron turban and garland cues, so this is a person appearance in person.2004-12-21
