A photograph of an evening homa at an indoor ritual space with a fire burning in a brick-lined fire pit. A priest in white dhoti with a green-and-gold sash and white body markings pours an offering from a ladle into the flames. Behind him, a seated figure in a red-orange robe and dark cap sits on a gold throne with hands folded in namaste. Standing devotees in white and maroon attire with rudraksha malas press palms together nearby, and a bearded man in white stands behind them. Brass lamps, a basket of flowers, banana leaves and a pot are arranged at the fire pit's edge, and a second priest in white stands at right with hands joined.2016-01-02A homa fire burns in a raised yellow-tiled fire pit under a tent canopy. Four young priests in orange and saffron dhotis stand at the fire; the foremost two hold a long offering vessel over the flames, and the others have white markings on their bodies and gold-and-rudraksha garlands. Behind them, a seated man in orange robes with a pink-and-white flower garland sits on an ornate golden throne with a large heart-shaped yellow marigold backdrop and a leopard-print seat cover. A trident stands beside the throne. In the foreground, a bowl of flowers, a brass lamp and a green-and-pink offering tray sit near the pit, and seated devotees with folded hands and flower garlands fill the left side. The seated throne figure may be a person, shown through his orange robe, long hair and rudraksha mala beside the throne.2016-12-19June 05 20122012-06-05March 10 20132013-03-10November 04 20132013-11-04August 22 20172017-08-22A homa fire ritual in a decorated temple-like hall. A shirtless man in a yellow dhoti with a green border and a red rudraksha-style bead necklace pours liquid from a large brass pot onto a blazing fire pit of wood. Behind him, another man in a white dhoti stands near a golden throne-style seat with a green backdrop. Golden umbrellas, gold standards and a colourful floral arrangement frame the scene, with brass lamps on a side table. A seated man in white and a few others sit in the background. The fire pit holds a decorated clay figure and marigold-red flowers.2015-07-16April 30 20152015-04-30September 19 20152015-09-19A homa fire ritual in a tented hall. A priest in a red-and-white dhoti and a pink-and-red turban sits cross-legged before a brick fire pit with flames, pouring from a brass bowl and holding a ritual implement. A younger man in a striped shawl bends forward to the left, and another man in white and red beside the fire holds a microphone. Garlands and offering plates with fruit and flowers lie around the pit. Behind them, rows of seated devotees in white and red shawls watch, and a camera on a tripod is at left. The figure in the turban is a priest officiating the fire rite; no identity is established from appearance.2015-10-19January 06 20182018-01-06April 14 20182018-04-14 +1 copies
