In the foreground a shirtless priest with rudraksha malas and a gold-framed pendant wears a white dhoti with gold border and holds a small brass oil lamp (deepam) in his right hand, with a sheet of printed paper resting on his lap. Beside him another priest in a white dhoti holds a brass bell, and other priests in saffron cloth are seated in the background. Brass plates hold flowers, betel leaves, a lit wick and offerings, and small lamps glow around them. There are no statues or screens in view.2017-01-22Close-up photograph of a ritual in progress. On the left, a man in white dhoti and white upper cloth wears a long necklace of golden beads with a dark pendant, and holds a brass plate heaped with white powder. On the right, a person in an orange-saffron garment with gold-bordered cloth and gold bangles extends hands dusted with white powder over the plate. Both carry the same white powder on their fingers. The scene suggests a puja or sacred offering, and the attire suggests a temple setting.2010-12-19September 27 20172017-09-27 +1 copiesDecember 02 20162016-12-02
