Photo of a ritual arrangement of decorated kalasha pots and shivalinga-style forms draped with garlands of yellow marigolds, red roses, white jasmine and purple flowers, with rudraksha-style beaded strands and a saffron-and-red cloth. A partly visible man at the left wears a pink and orange turban and gold-toned beaded necklaces. Behind the arrangement hang orange and gold draped cloths. The scene suggests a satsang homa setting with offerings prepared around the central pots; no person's identity is established.2015-07-18July 18 20152015-07-18 +1 copiesTwo coconut-shaped ritual vessels, each with a face-like pair of eye holes, stand side by side on a low brown cloth-draped platform, wrapped in thick garlands of yellow and white marigolds and red roses. A pink-red cloth drapes behind them. Two silver oil lamps flank the pair on the floor, with patterned striped mats and blurred figures in the background, consistent with a ritual homa or puja setting.2015-07-17December 02 20172017-12-02December 22 20182018-12-22 +2 copiesJuly 18 20152015-07-18A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a gold-toned metal deity pair seated under an arched frame heavily draped with multicoloured garlands of yellow, orange, red, purple and white flowers. The central figure wears a maroon turban with a crescent moon ornament and a jewelled crown, holding a trident, with a golden necklace and ornaments. Beside him stands a figure in a yellow and maroon garment with gold jewellery and a jewelled crown. In the foreground, a person in a dark maroon garment with a maroon turban and a long braided shawl stands at the left edge, holding a ceremonial staff topped with a silver finial, with flower garlands draped over the lingam base below. Only the partially visible person at the left edge counts as a physical person; the deities are statues.2017-12-02A photograph of a temple shrine decorated with dense garlands of marigolds and multicoloured flowers in red, yellow, white and purple. In the centre stands a golden deity murti with a crescent moon on its crown, flanked by two other murtis: one with a jewelled crown and ornate gold necklaces on the left, and a jewelled crown-headed murti in a yellow sari-like garment on the right. A man in a brown-maroon dhoti and maroon turban, wearing bangles and armbands, stands at the left and holds a brass vessel with both hands before the shrine, apparently offering or performing abhishekam. A large golden arch frames the shrine above. Only one physical person is visible.2017-12-02December 02 20172017-12-02Photograph of a temple deity arrangement draped in yellow and white flower garlands with red roses. A central metal murti with a tall ornate crown and gold-and-jewelled necklaces stands between two smaller murtis wearing crowns, all against a gold-brocade backdrop. On the right, a bare-chested man in an orange-red turban and orange-red dhoti, wearing a rudraksha mala and bangles, reaches toward the garlands and adorns the figures. A white sandal paste mark is visible on his shoulder. The scene is lit by night lighting.2015-11-18A photograph of a decorated temple shrine with a large deity murti of Shiva-Parvati style figures: a central Shiva figure with a crown, crescent and trident-like emblem, and a consort figure in gold and red garments, both draped in garlands of yellow, red, green and purple flowers. In front stands a Shiva linga draped in flower garlands with a kumkum-marked base, and oil lamps and a basket of offerings sit before it. On the left stands a dark-skinned figure with long hair and a yellow garment, and on the right another murti in a red headwrap with a rudraksha-style necklace and flower garlands. Golden arches frame the shrine. A camera operator is visible at lower right. The figures are statues rather than living people, and no physical person is clearly identifiable as a person.2017-12-02A photograph of a temple shrine with a standing man in a rust-orange turban and dark red-brown dhoti with gold border, wearing gold necklaces, rudraksha-style beads and bangles, smiling and holding his palms together near a kalasha-like arrangement of lamps and offerings. Behind him are golden deity murtis and standing figures in gold crowns, all draped with long garlands of pink, yellow, green and white flowers.2014-12-05
