A dusty gravel courtyard at a high-altitude Tibetan-plateau site, with arid brown hills behind a long low building with glass-fronted windows. Several white and silver SUVs and minivans are parked in rows. Around ten people stand among the vehicles: a man in an orange scarf and dark trousers in the left foreground, a man in a blue jacket and red knit cap in the centre, and others in dark or colourful jackets. Orange cloth and an orange sticker decorate some vehicles. Pilgrims from a Kailash yatra are gathered here, the group's vehicles waiting in the open lot.August 07 20112011-08-07Photo 11681751August 07 20112011-08-072011 - Glimpses Of KailashYatra +1 copiesAugust 08 20112011-08-08 +2 copiesAugust 08 20112011-08-08A photograph of a dusty, barren hillside landscape with a stone-walled building beside a gravel parking area. Four white four-wheel-drive SUVs are parked, with doors and rear hatches open. Two men stand near the vehicles: one in a blue jacket and jeans, the other in an olive-green jacket and dark trousers holding an orange flag. Strings of colourful prayer flags stretch across the front of the building, and a small sign hangs on its wall. Three white and silver four-wheel-drive SUVs are parked in a line, one with its rear hatch open. Roughly a dozen people stand in small groups beside the vehicles: some wear bright blue jackets, one wears an orange robe, and one woman wears a red and pink garment with a pink scarf. Puddles sit on the muddy ground in the foreground.2011 - Glimpses Of KailashYatra +2 copiesAugust 08 20112011-08-08A photograph of a group of travellers gathered beside several parked SUVs on a barren, stony plateau under an overcast grey sky, with green hills behind. A pilgrim in an orange robe stands near the first vehicle, and a few people in blue and dark jackets, one with a pink scarf, cluster together by the open rear doors of a white SUV. Two men in jackets stand on the right near another open vehicle. Shallow puddles and sparse grass lie in the foreground dirt.
