Several bare-chested men in orange-red dhotis hold lit oil lamps and aarti flames, one arm raised, facing a shrine out of frame. The foreground man has long hair tied in a topknot, a rudraksha mala across his chest, and white tilak markings on his forehead and arms. A tripod-mounted video camera stands at right, and a few blurred figures sit in the background beside framed photos on the wall.2016-10-12October 12 20162016-10-12A young man in an orange saffron dhoti-style garment with gold border and gold waist sash stands in profile holding a brass multi-wick oil lamp in his left hand and a brass handbell in his right, with rudraksha beads and a gold-toned necklace around his neck and beaded bands on his arms. His hair is tied in a tall topknot. Behind and to the right, another arm raises a lit brass lamp with flames. Seated devotees in orange, teal and red saris and kurtas fill the blurred background, many with hands raised in worship. The setting appears to be an indoor hall during an aarti-style ritual.2016-05-24March 18 20172017-03-18January 09 20182018-01-09March 18 20172017-03-18Three bare-chested men in saffron and orange dhotis perform an aarti with lit oil lamps in a hall with seated devotees in the background. The man on the right holds a lamp with a flame and a bell, wears a rudraksha mala and white tripundra on his forehead. The man in the centre holds a bell and a lamp, and the man on the left holds a lit lamp near his face. Seated devotees in colourful saris and clothing watch. Framed pictures and a gold-framed deity image hang on the wall behind, with a video camera on a tripod at right.2016-10-12A photograph of an evening aarti in a hall. Three bare-chested young men in orange dhoti-style cloths, with rudraksha malas and white markings on their chests and foreheads, hold up brass oil lamps with bright flames. The central figure in front holds a lamp in his right hand and a bell-like object is visible at the right edge. Seated devotees, mostly women in saris and salwar, fill the background, and a framed poster and a shrine-like display are visible on the wall.2016-10-12A photograph of three young men in orange sacred garments performing a ritual with lit oil lamps and small handheld bells. The central man, in focus, has long dreadlocks gathered atop his head, a white vertical mark on his forehead, rudraksha beads and a gold necklace, and holds a lamp aloft in his right hand while ringing a bell. Figures to the left and right, slightly blurred, hold similar lamps and bells and wear orange cloths and beaded necklaces. The background shows a warm pink-walled room with a glowing yellow light panel. Visually this suggests an aarti performed with lamps and bells.2017-03-18
