A photograph of a bearded man with long dark hair seated on a red-cushioned chair on a tiled platform outdoors, wearing an orange-red shawl and dhoti. A wooden-looking chair sits beside a small striped mat. Behind him stand white concrete pillars, a red brick wall, and stacked orange-brown shipping containers. A tall wooded hill rises in the background under a pale sky, and a blue-black metal lamp stand with a dish is at right. A parked silver car is partly visible at left.

A photograph of a seated bearded man in rust-orange ochre robes on a raised platform with a red-and-blue striped mat, gazing toward a large green hill of Arunachala with rocky outcrops. A pale white pillar stands near him, a blue wrought-iron stand holds a dark bowl on the right, and a red-brick compound wall, a parked white car and leafy trees frame the scene. Given the page's Thiruvannamalai context, the rocky hill appears consistent with the sacred mountain. The man is an appearance-based candidate who wears saffron-ochre clothing and has long dark hair and a full beard, but these cues are not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role as a seated sannyasi.2017-02-03February 03 20172017-02-03Outdoors, a man with long dark hair and a full beard sits cross-legged on a raised concrete platform wrapped in a red-and-blue striped mat, wearing an orange-saffron robe with a shawl draped over one shoulder.
