Several umbrellas, including a dark embroidered umbrella held over a figure in the foreground, shelter the procession. Shoes are racked along the left wall. A bare-chested drummer or attendant with a bronze instrument stands at right.2017-02-24Night procession on a gravel road between tall red multi-storey buildings with window air conditioners. At the upper left, a person in a red and gold garment with a flower garland holds a large orange ceremonial umbrella, and a bright handheld light glows nearby. A long line of devotees walks toward the right: many women in saffron and orange saris with gold borders, some wearing flower garlands, and men and women in white dhotis, saris and kurta-style clothes with gold-bordered shawls. Several bystanders stand at the left edge in white clothing. The scene reads as a ritual procession with a canopy-bearer leading the group.2015-11-25November 16 20152015-11-16
