Night photograph of a illuminated festival procession at Karthigai Deepam. A large gilded ratha or chariot dominates the centre, carrying several deity murtis seated on a golden Nandi bull figure beneath an ornate golden canopy with a yellow drape. Strings of multicoloured lights and a smaller gilded palanquin with a red-cushioned seat stand to the left. Dark silhouettes of a crowd gather in the foreground, and the scene is lit mainly by the chariot's lamps and the string lights against a black night sky. No clearly identifiable person is seated on the chariot, so no a person candidate is visible.
