Inside, deity murti figures are decorated with garlands of marigold and multicoloured flowers, and a gilded arch backs the central figures. Two or three people in orange and red-brown clothing stand at the front of the shrine, one in orange holding a small object, apparently engaged in worship or offering. Brass lamps and oil lamps are placed on the platform in front. The statues are dressed in white and red cloth, and the scene has a quiet, ritual atmosphere.2016-03-07January 08 20172017-01-08A photograph in near-darkness of an illuminated shrine niche framed by gold-painted arches and orange draped curtains. At centre sits a deity murti with a tall crown and blue throat, garlanded with marigold and white flower garlands, flanked by a seated female figure in gold clothing and two standing attendant figures on either side, also garlanded. Brass lamps and a flower-decorated altar stand in front. No physical people are visible; the figures are statues.2017-01-08June 10 20092009-06-10January 08 20172017-01-08Night photograph of an ornate South Indian temple gopuram gateway, its painted and sculpted facade lit by floodlights. Upper tiers display rows of small painted deity figures and celestial figures; the arch above the entrance shows a painted panel of standing deities, and the left pillar features a painted Ganesha with elephant head. Brightly coloured red, blue, yellow and green panels cover the walls, with gold-painted architectural trim. No people are visible in the frame, and the dark sky surrounds the structure.2012-04-11 +1 copiesA photograph of an illuminated temple shrine with carved stone pillars and a gilded arched frame. Within the frame sit statues of deity murti: a figure with a crown and trident, and a consort figure in green and orange, both draped in garlands of red and white flowers. A green curtain backs the shrine, with a yellow cloth on the base and brass oil lamps standing before it. A smaller statue in yellow robes stands in a side niche, and a small figure in yellow sits in front. No living people are visible.2011-11-28A photograph of a temple shrine niche with a golden arched frame and a red backdrop. At the centre sits a deity murti in a seated pose with a trident-like staff and a silver crown, flanked by two standing female figures in green and yellow saris, one holding a lamp. Garlands of purple and white flowers hang across the central figures, and a brass oil lamp stands in front. A gold-brown curtain hangs to the right and a dark metal statue stands at the edge. No living people are visible.2017-09-07 +1 copiesInterior of a temple-style shrine lit with vivid blue light, showing a carved stone arch with a central sanctum where a multi-hooded cobra canopy surrounds a seated deity murti. Painted life-size statues line the foreground: figures with monkey-like faces in red, blue, and green dhotis and jewelled belts, some holding staffs or bows, appearing to face the shrine in devotion. Ornate carved corbels with lion-like heads frame the arch. No living people are visible; the figures in the foreground are statues. The scene resembles a diorama of a Ramayana-themed sculpture gallery.2018-04-29
