A procession with ceremonial musicians and attendants in Thiruvannamalai. In the foreground a man in a yellow shirt and white dhoti plays a long brass horn (natheswaram-style wind instrument). Beside him a man with white forehead paste and red bindi plays a similar horn, wearing a yellow top and orange cloth. In the centre a man in a white shirt and white dhoti plays a large barrel drum (thavil) with gold-trimmed straps. Behind them an orange and yellow ornate ceremonial standard with a red emblem is carried, and a young man at right in orange dhoti, bare chest, rudraksha and gold necklaces holds a gold-tipped pole of a large fringed canopy. Several attendants wear white or orange cloth with white sacred ash marks. The scene is an outdoor temple procession with palm trees and a painted deity banner at left.
