Women in saris and salwar kameez press palms together in namaste, while a woman in green holds a white banner showing a baby and a red-robed figure with the text 'Beti ka Jeevan' style slogan. Uniformed police officers in khaki and dark caps hold back the crowd. A large red-and-white banner overhead reads 'Paramahamsa Nithyananda' and dates 2016. Many people raise phones to photograph a passing procession; at right, a figure in a rust-coloured garment with gold jewellery is visible up close.
