November 21 20132013-11-21Night procession on a dirt road lit by a bright floodlight. Saffron-robed men carrying tall silver-topped staffs and long spears walk in front, with a bare-chested man at left holding a staff. Behind them, a vehicle with a canopy and a decorated golden palanquin or ratha carries a large deity murti or ornate figure framed by a golden arch. Devotees in white dhotis and dark clothing follow along the road, with a tree and a red brick wall in the background.2013-11-21February 07 20172017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07January 03 20082008-01-03February 07 20172017-02-07Night photo of an outdoor evening ceremony with several figures in saffron and orange robes holding lit oil lamps or flames at a long row of low tables. Tall vertical fluorescent tube lights stand among bamboo-like poles, and strings of small lights glow in the upper right. A large crowd of seated and standing devotees fills the background in the dark. No individual can be clearly distinguished as the a person from appearance, so the robed figures are described by their role as lamp-bearers.2008-05-19February 07 20172017-02-07A nighttime procession walks along a dirt road beside a tall red wall, with a lit tree and distant lights ahead. Many devotees in saffron and orange robes, rudraksha malas and white vibhuti marks on their foreheads lead the march. In the foreground a woman in an orange sari holds a golden ceremonial staff topped with a large round gold parasol-like canopy, and other devotees carry long golden poles with saffron flags. Behind them a long line of people in white and saffron clothing follows, forming a ratha-style or sacred procession.2013-10-12February 07 20172017-02-07January 03 20082008-01-03
