A photograph of a puja being performed on a tiled floor. Two sets of orange cloth mats hold brass plates and lamps with yellow flower garlands, a small red offering, and a brass vessel. A man in a rust-red top and orange dhoti sits cross-legged at the upper left, lighting a small oil lamp with one hand while holding an incense stick, his wrist wrapped in beaded bracelets. At the lower right, another person in orange clothing and a bracelet works over a brass tray. A thin trail of incense smoke rises. The scene is a worship ritual with lamps, flowers and incense.

Brass items are arranged before them: a brass plate holding a red flower, a small brass cup, a conch shell on a stand, a brass bell, a small oil lamp and an incense stick in a holder, and a dish of kumkum or vibhuti. A green-tinted basin with floating flowers sits behind. A rudraksha mala hangs at the shoulder and a bangle is worn on the wrist. No face is visible, so the figure is described by role only; a person is unsure.2011-09-16Close view of a puja setup on a tiled floor.
