Photograph of an indoor ritual on a pink mat in a plain room with pale blue-grey walls and a bamboo-roofed ceiling. A man in orange robes with an orange turban and gold-trimmed garment sits with hands folded in namaste, with a large round gold-and-red fan-shaped ceremonial backdrop behind him. A man in white kneels at left holding a lit oil lamp aarti toward him, while a seated older man in white with folded hands watches. A woman in a white sari with red border stands at left holding a plate, and several men in white dhotis and shirts stand or kneel nearby. Stacks of white-wrapped books sit on the mat in front, and a plastic bag printed with text lies on the floor. The orange-robed figure has long hair and a visible garland, and the scene reads as an aarti offering. Several people are visible.

A man in a white shirt and white dhoti kneels and holds a lit oil lamp toward a seated figure. A seated person in an orange turban, orange shawl and gold-trimmed orange garment sits with palms pressed together; the figure's dress and adornments are distinctive, so this is a person candidate. Behind him stands a man in white holding a large round red and gold ceremonial fan or plate. A woman in a white sari with a red border and gold bangles stands at left with hands folded; several men in white kurtas stand or sit with palms together. Stacks of white cloth bundles lie on the carpet.2007-01-12A photograph of an indoor ritual inside a plain blue-grey room with bamboo-and-thatch ceiling and a fluorescent tube. A large golden-edged red and orange floral garland-like plaque is held up behind him by a man in white. Standing around are devotees in white dhotis and kurtas with hands in anjali, and a woman in a cream sari with red and orange border and a red blouse holding a brass lamp. Stacks of wrapped books or packets lie on the mat in front. Appearance-based cues on the seated man (saffron clothing, orange head wrap, long hair, gold necklace) suggest a person, though this is uncertain.2007-01-12January 12 20072007-01-12February 07 20082008-02-07A photograph of a homa fire ceremony in an indoor hall with a brick fire pit filled with wood and surrounded by pink lotus flowers and marigold garlands.
