A photograph of an outdoor courtyard at an ashram where practitioners train Shivasthamba Yoga (mallakhamba) on tall wooden poles. In the foreground, a woman in a black top and black leggings stands beside a pole on folded mats, while an older woman in a grey-and-white salwar kameez with a dupatta looks on. Another woman in an orange headscarf stands nearby. Behind them, several people in white and dark clothing stand on the paved ground, and two figures in orange robes walk among blue and orange mats. A red building with a metal roof, cars and trees fill the background, and wet pavement reflects the light.

Most performers wear orange or saffron clothing; some are bare-chested with orange lower garments, and several are climbing or hanging from the poles. Spectators and staff sit under a blue canopy at right with equipment and laptops, and a few white-clad people stand on the far side near mats. Parked cars, a red-roofed building and a tractor sit beyond the courtyard. Many people are visible, with a small number of spectators standing near the edges. No individual's identity is established from appearance.2017-10-03 +1 copiesOctober 03 20172017-10-03 +1 copiesAerial view of a paved courtyard where many people practise mallakhamba pole yoga on blue mats.
