July 15 20112011-07-15February 27 20162016-02-27 +1 copiesA crowded outdoor scene under leafy trees where devotees gather around a golden deity murti decorated with yellow, orange and purple garlands and a red draped backdrop. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands near the murti, and a woman in a white sari receives something from him at the front. Other women wear white saris, orange and red blouses, and bright salwar. Many men in white shirts and dhotis press forward through the crowd, with a boy in a black shirt among them. The statue sits on a gilded red pedestal, and the scene suggests puja or prasadam distribution.2010-01-01July 15 20112011-07-15January 01 20172017-01-01Outdoor scene at a shaded shrine beneath large trees. A gilded deity murti stands in an ornate arched frame, adorned with a crown, garlands and a green and red cloth backdrop, flanked by brass lamp stands. Several women in saris, including white and yellow sarees, teal, red and blue garments, stand on a brick-paved courtyard with hands folded in prayer before the murti, some possibly in darshan or puja. No swami figure is visible in the scene.2017-01-01A photograph of an outdoor shrine set among dense green trees, with a silver-framed arched niche housing a black-faced statue draped in an orange cloth, a green backdrop, and garlands of yellow, orange, white and multicoloured flowers. The figure wears an orange turban and a rudraksha-style necklace, and holds a staff. Red-painted stones form a base beneath the shrine, with a brass pot, plates of flowers and white offerings placed before it. Around it, devotees in white dhotis and shirts and women in white and cream saris stand with hands raised in prayer, some touching the stone rail. Wooden posts and a rope barrier line the foreground. This appears to be a murti shrine under a banyan-type tree rather than a living person in the scene.2011-07-15Outdoor photograph of a procession beside a large tree. At the centre stands a golden-ornate deity murti, a Vishnu-form figure with a tall crown and Urdhva Pundra-style forehead marking, draped in white cloth with layered gold and jewelled necklaces and garlands of red and white flowers arranged on an arched golden frame. Devotees in white dhotis and white shirts surround it, many with white caps or sacred marks on their foreheads. A man on the left wears a saffron-orange shawl and a rudraksha-style mala and looks toward the deity. A young woman in the foreground wears a white top with a pink bag strap visible. Piles of dry leaves and earth lie behind the group, with a red wall in the background.2016-02-27 +1 copiesOutdoor temple procession beneath a large banyan tree with aerial roots. A man in a dark red-brown dhoti and shawl, wearing a gold necklace and a red-and-white floral garland, stands at the centre; a man beside him in a saffron-orange dhoti holds a lit oil lamp, and a white-clad priest with a bare chest also carries a lamp. Several white-robed men and devotees in orange and white stand with hands folded in namaste. A white ceremonial umbrella and a multicoloured fringed parasol are held overhead. On the right, a black stone deity murti with gold ornaments and a turban is garlanded with yellow and pink flowers. Red floor tiles and scattered petals fill the courtyard, and a black cobra-shaped stone sits at the base of the murti.2016-12-14September 02 20172017-09-02January 08 20172017-01-08July 22 20132013-07-22
