A large black lingam at an outdoor shrine is bathed in water and decorated with a dense skirt of marigold and multicoloured flower garlands in yellow, orange, white, purple and green, with a flower garland hung down its front. Water pours from the spout of the yoni base, and water sprays over the top of the lingam. Behind it, rows of devotees in white clothes sit with hands folded on red stone steps beneath orange and yellow umbrellas. Several priests in orange and saffron robes sit on the steps, and a priest in orange-brown garments stands at the right beside a flower-decorated railing, with garlands draped over it. Three small brass plaques are mounted on the lingam's side. Foreground flowers and petals scatter across the wet platform, marking an abhishekam ritual.
