Photograph of an abhishekam ritual at a temple. A man in orange dhoti and orange upper cloth leans over a gilded rectangular tray, holding a small brass deity murti wrapped in red cloth with a trident and a kalasha-like finial on the tray's gold-patterned base. Behind him, a second figure in an orange sari-style garment with gold bangles pours water from a brass pot. Brass lamps and a flower lie nearby, and a red temple wall appears at the top left. The murti is a small brass figure with a weapon, not identifiable beyond this.2010-07-21September 21 20172017-09-21Photo 11715108September 21 20172017-09-21September 21 20172017-09-21 +1 copiesA shaven-headed priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with green-gold border pours water from a large engraved silver vessel over a gilded bronze deity murti with four arms, holding a trident-like staff and crown. The dark stone background is carved with ornate patterns. No face of any person is visible. Water streams down past the murti.2013-06-23A golden-brown statue of a bare-chested, shaved-headed male figure in a golden-yellow dhoti is being bathed by a hand pouring liquid from a brass vessel over its shoulder, with milky liquid streaming down its arm and chest and droplets splashing around its base. The statue has a serene, slightly smiling face with painted eyes and brows. The figure's right palm is raised in blessing. Blurred green foliage and red and gold ritual elements appear in the background. This is an abhishekam of a statue, with no physical people visible except the pouring hand. Statue depiction only, with no identification of the figure as a person.2010-12-19 +1 copiesSeptember 21 20172017-09-21 +2 copies
