Outdoor cremation scene on open red earth in a grassy field under a blue sky with cumulus clouds. A large wood pyre stacked on brick platform is burning, with smoke rising to the left and pink-tinted ground marking around its base. To the right, two men in white dhoti-style clothing kneel and bend over items on the ground near sacks and a small pot. A standing man in an orange-saffron garment stands beside a yellow jeep under a colourful festooned canopy, and a bare-chested man in a white cloth stands near a small framed portrait on an easel. Several distant figures in light clothing stand across the field, and a brown pillar-like structure stands in the background among trees.
