November 25 20102010-11-25November 25 20102010-11-25November 25 20102010-11-25A deity murti of a standing Murugan figure with a tall conical crown, bejewelled silver-and-gold ornaments and a spear held in one hand, is flanked by two smaller silver consort figures. The central figure and flanking statues are densely decorated with garlands of yellow, red, purple and white flowers and green leaves arranged in a large arch. They sit on a teal cloth-covered platform in front of a red backdrop, with a standing man in white dhoti and shirt at the left edge near a thick rope. The setting is at night with dark surroundings and white cloth at the sides.2010-11-25November 23 20102010-11-23Night photograph of a boat on a water tank with a fountain and string lights behind. A deity murti decorated with layered garlands in yellow, green, red and white sits on a gold pedestal under a multicolour canopy. A man in an orange robe and tall ornate gold crown sits on the left of the boat, holding a small ritual object near a tray, facing the murti. A younger man in white clothes sits beside the murti on the right, and a man in white kneels at the boat's edge at lower right. A child in white stands at lower left, and more people in white are seen on the steps. The scene appears to be a water ritual, possibly a boat procession with a murti. Visible cues are insufficient to confirm the orange-robed man's identity, so he is described by role only.2010-11-23December 12 20112011-12-12October 03 20112011-10-03Night photograph of a decorated processional palanquin with a deity murti draped in dense garlands of yellow, orange and red flowers. Tasselled ornaments in pink, teal and gold hang from a canopy above. A bald man in white dhoti with a white shawl and rudraksha mala stands at left, looking upward toward the murti and holding a white fan-like whisk. Two seated people in light clothing sit at the right edge near the palanquin base. The setting is dark outdoors with a utility pole and foliage behind.2011-10-03December 09 20112011-12-09January 04 20162016-01-04A night-time photograph of a deity murti dressed in an orange cloth and draped with garlands of yellow, red and white flowers, placed before an ornate silver arch and a silver canopy. A priest in white dhoti and shawl stands at left, holding a lit oil lamp in his right hand and raising it toward the murti as part of an aarti. A gold-and-brown silk cloth covers the base, with loudspeakers at right and marigolds in the foreground. No other physical people are clearly visible.2013-01-09
