In the centre a man in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a bearded older man in orange stand together. To the right a man in a cream kurta and glasses and a man in a yellow robe with an orange turban stand with hands folded. To the left, a man in white kurta and white dhoti stands with an older man in white clothes at right. A uniformed police officer stands at the far right in khaki, and a man in yellow and orange robes stands beside him. Several others in white and orange clothing stand around the group. A standing man in white dhoti and shawl with white hair and glasses reaches toward a large brass lamp with a flower garland, guided by a saffron-robed monk in a red-banded turban-like head covering with a crystal mala. Beside them a bald, bearded monk in orange robes and a shorter priest in orange stand near the lamp. Other men in white shirts and glasses and monks in orange robes with tilak and vibhuti surround the lamp. Marigold garlands hang from the lamp stand, and green leaves rest at its base. This appears to be a lamp-lighting ritual, with an oil lamp being lit.2010-01-30A photograph inside a canopied pandal decorated with marigold garlands, mango-leaf toran and orange triangular pennants.
