In the foreground, a brass plate holds a mound of pale offering, and a brass lamp stand with a lit wick rises beside it. Copper vessels, lit candles and several small oil lamps line the cool floor, with a striped woven mat beneath the devotees. The foreground shows an open book or sheet of ritual text. The scene suggests a group ritual with lamps and offerings rather than a specific named event.2017-01-22Photograph of a seated ritual row with several devotees' hands holding brass oil lamps (diyas) with lit flames, and brass puja trays arranged on the floor with marigold and yellow flower petals, a small brass bell, and a brass kalasha-style vessel. One man in an orange-red garment and a rudraksha bracelet leans in to light a lamp, while others wear cream and yellow-bordered white dhoti cloths. Their faces are cropped out of frame. Pink and maroon cloth covers the floor under the trays, with incense smoke rising at the right edge. The scene suggests an aarti or puja offering at the moment of lighting the lamps.2017-01-06January 07 20172017-01-07Close photograph of a puja being performed on the floor.
