Indoor photo in a hall with a yellow steel truss roof and hanging colourful embroidered banners. A man in a long orange robe with long dark hair raises his right arm high, tossing a spray of grains or powder into the air, and holds a small silver bell or handbell in his left hand. Beside him, a bald man in white dhoti and white shawl covers his mouth with his hand, and another man in white stands at the left edge. White plastic chairs fill the floor, and a framed picture hangs on the left wall.

A photograph inside a large hall with a yellow metal truss roof and hanging ceiling lights. A figure in an orange-saffron robe with long swept-back hair raises a ritual implement with a white smoky, feathery plume, possibly a whisk or fan of ash or incense, while holding a small handheld bell in the other hand. Two men in white dhoti and shawl stand to the left, and rows of white plastic chairs fill the floor. Colourful striped cloth banners hang from the ceiling structure near the right wall, and a framed portrait of a bearded man in a white turban is on the left wall.2005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22A photograph inside a hall with a yellow steel arched roof and fluorescent tube lights. A long-haired man in a saffron-orange cloth stands centre with both arms raised, holding white ceremonial fans or whisks that scatter powder into the air. He has long swept-back dark hair and wears a plain orange shawl over his body. To the left, a bald man in white dhoti and shawl stands beside a seated man in white ritual dress. Multicoloured cloth-wrapped pillars hang from the roof behind, and rows of white plastic chairs fill the floor. A portrait of an older bearded man in white hangs on the left wall. Several people are seated and standing in the background.2005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22A photograph inside a temporary hall with a curved bamboo-and-metal frame and white plastic chairs. A man in an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair raises a white feathered fan or chamara high in his right hand while holding a small handbell in his left, apparently performing an aarti. Four men in white ritual dress stand to the left, several with white shawls over their shoulders, watching him. Tall decorated poles wrapped in colourful patterned cloth stand to the right. A framed portrait hangs on the back wall.2005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22Photograph inside a hall with a steel truss ceiling, fluorescent tube lights and white plastic chairs. In the centre stands a long-haired man in a loose saffron-orange robe, both arms raised high, holding a small object in each hand while seemingly performing an aarti. Behind him to the left, a shaven-headed man in white dhoti and shawl stands with arms folded, and another man in white stands further back. Colourful cloth-wrapped pillars with patterned panels hang from the roof beams, and a dark bag rests on a chair at right. The man in orange has distinctive long swept-back hair and a saffron robe, a probable match for a person, shown as a standing participant in the ritual. Several other people are seated or standing along the walls.2005-12-22A photograph inside a temporary open-sided pavilion with a metal-tube and bamboo frame under a corrugated roof. Tall decorated pillars wrapped in coloured fabric with patterns of lotus-like motifs and symbols stand along the frame. In the centre, a figure in a saffron-orange robe with long, loose dark hair walks forward holding a small brass bell or handbell in one hand. Three men in white ritual garments stand to the left, one with hands joined in prayer and one holding a white cloth to his face. White plastic chairs line the floor, and a microphone stand is visible at the lower right. Given the page's Ananda Brahmotsav context, this appears to be a ritual gathering. The central figure has long swept-back hair and an orange robe, which are appearance cues, so this is a person in person, though his identity cannot be confirmed from the image.2005-12-22December 22 20052005-12-22
