A photograph taken inside a partly built hall under a white canopy trimmed with draped white fabric, with scaffolding and a stage area behind. Five people stand on a concrete floor in a group conversation. On the left, a young man in white kurta and dhoti-style clothing stands beside a person in white with a yellow shawl and beaded necklace. An older man in a maroon checked shirt and dark trousers stands in the centre with a white beard. On the right, a person in an orange robe and orange shawl with gold beads gestures with one hand, while another person in an orange robe and orange shawl stands beside them. A hard hat lies on the floor at the lower left, and a wooden plank runs along the foreground.2010-01-02January 02 20102010-01-02December 29 20092009-12-29April 04 20082008-04-04May 30 20152015-05-30Indoor scene in a large hall with yellow walls, exposed red roof beams and an overhead chain hoist on a metal frame. Four men stand in conversation. On the left, a smiling man in a rust-red dhoti and wrap, with a rudraksha mala and a white tilak on his forehead, faces the group. Next to him, a man in a white dhoti with gold border and white shirt, wearing a black crossbody bag and rudraksha malas, gestures with his hand. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand on the right: the nearer one is bald and bearded with a beaded necklace, the other bearded with a saffron cloth over his shoulder. A partly visible man in red at the far right wears glasses. Three people in saffron-orange robes stand on the floor, and a man in a white shirt and white trousers stands at left with his hands on his hips. The saffron-robed figure at right, with shoulder-length dark hair and a draped orange cloth, gestures with one hand while speaking, and another saffron-robed figure with long hair stands in front with his back partly turned. Behind them a worker is visible in a doorway. Nothing in the image is readable as a ritual act.2009-12-02A photograph taken indoors in a large hall with exposed rafters and fluorescent lights. In the foreground, a figure in orange robes and an orange turban with a red dot on the forehead stands at right, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a large gold ceremonial pendant, gesturing with open hands as he speaks. To the left, a man in a white dhoti and shawl with a red border, wearing glasses and white ash markings on his forehead, listens attentively. Between them, a bearded man in a yellow garment with a green border and beaded necklaces holds a small camera. Behind them are small wooden shrine canopies decorated with green and multicoloured hanging beads and garlands, and a man in a brown jacket stands at right.December 01 20092009-12-01 +2 copiesMay 30 20152015-05-30
