Outdoor photo of a large crowd gathered in and around a rectangular stepped water tank at a temple-like complex. Many people wade waist-deep in brown water, mostly dressed in white garments, with some women in red, orange and yellow saris. A figure in an orange robe stands near the centre of the tank beside a golden palanquin or ceremonial structure, and white-clad attendants stand along the steps. On the right, a large black stone pillar with garlands rises beside the water. Spectators in white line the upper steps and embankment under a clear sky with trees and construction in the background.

A tall black stone Shivalingam rises from a square base in the water, garlanded with flower strings. Many devotees, mostly in white clothes, wade or stand in the water pouring and offering around the lingam, while others crowd the bank. In the left foreground, figures in orange and saffron robes stand near a small canopy with a decorated palanquin or ritual platform, one wearing an orange robe near the water. Trees and a bright sky frame the scene, consistent with an abhishekam-style ritual at a temple tank.2009-01-02Large crowd of devotees wearing white clothes stands waist-deep in a water tank around a tall black Shiva lingam with a silver-trimmed base. Two people in saffron-orange robes stand on a raised platform beside a golden palanquin decorated with flower garlands, and a devotee in orange kneels near it.
