January 09 20082008-01-09January 09 20082008-01-09January 09 20082008-01-09Night outdoor photo of a long-haired figure in orange cloth draped over one shoulder, seated on a white stone pedestal, smiling toward a kneeling bald man in orange robes at lower left. Behind them a semicircle of standing people in orange robes and white clothes, some with hands folded, one person holding a camera, with dark trees above. Flowers are visible at left and sandals sit near the pedestal base. The seated figure matches presentation cues for a person: long swept hair and bare upper body with orange drape, seated in a position of honour while a devotee kneels before him.2006-08-21January 02 20082008-01-02Outdoor photo of a seated figure in an orange sannyasi cloth with long dark swept hair and a small forehead mark, sitting on a wooden seat before a low square fire pit of white bricks. Brass vessels, a silver pot and a small brass kalasha-style vessel sit on the brick platform beside a microphone stand. Around the pit, a crowd of about a dozen people sits on the ground wearing white garments with orange shawls, seen from behind. Large banyan trees with aerial roots and a open book on a stand frame the scene. Appearance-based cues of long swept-back hair and orange clothing mark a probable Swamiji (probable) presiding over a homa, seated on the wooden seat with the ritual vessels nearby.2006-09-21August 03 20082008-08-03A night-time outdoor gathering on a dark road beside trees. A man in an orange robe sits cross-legged on a white raised platform, speaking to a seated crowd. Around him, roughly thirty devotees in white dhotis or clothing and orange shawls sit on the ground, many with long braids or hair bunched at the back. A woman in a yellow saree stands at the right edge of the platform. An orange-clad figure with a shaved head sits at the left of the platform.2008-01-02January 02 20082008-01-02Night outdoor gathering on a dirt ground under bright floodlights. A woman with long dark hair in an orange-red sleeveless top and matching orange-red dhoti-style wrap sits on a white plastic chair in the centre-right, hands resting on her knees, with sandals placed on the ground in front of her. Around her, a seated audience in white shirts and white dhotis, many with lanyards, sits on the dirt and on rows of white plastic chairs at left. Standing behind her are two men in white shirts and white dhotis with hands joined, a man in a white shirt and dark trousers, and a man in a saffron-orange garment with a cloth draped over the shoulders. Illuminated pathways and trees appear in the background.2008-05-08Night outdoor gathering on bare ground with a campfire-style setting. A seated central figure in an orange saffron shawl and orange clothing sits on a white plastic chair holding a long wooden staff across his lap, with a small framed picture placed on the ground nearby. Behind him a standing man in white clothes with an orange shawl holds a tall wooden staff upright. Around them rows of seated devotees in white and orange robes listen, and a robed figure in orange stands in the background under a dark sky. A bald man in orange sits in the foreground at left.2008-01-14Night-time outdoor gathering at a temple courtyard under large trees, with a seated group of devotees in white and orange clothing. A woman in a flowing orange robe with a mala sits on a raised platform at the top center, speaking to the group. Students in white dhotis and orange shawls sit on the paved ground and stone steps, some with long braids, and a wooden bench stands in the foreground.
