The figure wears a red turban-like head covering, a white and gold-bordered dhoti, and a golden waist ornament, with multiple strands of rudraksha beads hanging across the chest. Thick red and orange flower garlands drape over the shoulders and arms. Behind it, a blue silk cloth and orange-and-gold drapery frame the scene. A bare foot with a gold-toned sole is visible at left. The composition suggests an abhishekam or puja decoration of a murti.2012-05-02Photo 11725934 +1 copiesJanuary 27 20122012-01-27September 26 20112011-09-26A person in an orange-saffron robe, with the head and arms covered in a matching shawl, stands at the left edge reaching toward an ornate deity murti. The murti is a Shiva lingam-style form with a gold crown, a silver face-piece, and a large rudraksha-style garland, draped with white, yellow, green and red marigold-style garlands. Behind it hang a dark backdrop with colourful trim, a gold arch and a silver trident-like ornament. Brass oil lamps stand in front on a white altar cloth, and the floor is tiled. This appears to be a puja or abhishekam at a temple shrine.2008-05-03
