January 20 20092009-01-20A photograph of a ritual food offering in an open-sided hall with a concrete floor. A seated figure in orange and red robes with long, swept-back dark hair and a rudraksha-style mala is at the centre-right, reaching toward a large steel tray of rice-like prasad. A man in white dhoti and shirt kneels at left on a woven mat, taking food from the tray. Behind them, a standing group of devotees in white and pale clothing, including a woman in a red and gold sari and another in an orange blouse, watch or hold trays. Steel vessels line a counter at right and a man in white holds a brass plate. A framed portrait of a smiling man in a white head covering hangs on the back wall. Appearance-based label: Swamiji (probable), the seated robed figure, identified by orange robes, long swept-back hair and mala beads while distributing prasad.2006-10-21A photograph of a prasad serving at an indoor hall. A long-haired person in an orange saffron garment with red border and a rudraksha mala sits on a carved wooden chair, holding a large metal plate of food with both hands and scooping from it. A young girl in white kneels on a woven mat in front of him, receiving food with cupped hands and gold bangles. Behind them, men in white dhotis and white shirts, one wearing a dark bead mala, stand near steel vessels on a table, and a woman in a maroon sari with gold border eats from her hand. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure has long swept-back hair and saffron robes with a rudraksha mala, matching the page's Swamiji-present note. A green banana leaf lies on the floor.2006-10-21A photograph of a food-serving scene at an ashram hall. A long-haired figure in a saffron-orange robe with red border sits on a wooden chair, holding a large metal tray of rice-like food and taking a handful to offer. A devotee in white dhoti and shirt with a red-edged cloth kneels before him on a woven mat, hands cupped to receive. Behind them standing devotees in white clothes, some with rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, a woman in red sari, and a woman in white sari with gold bangles watch; a man in white dhoti holds a leaf-like plate. Steel vessels and food sit on a metal table in the background, with a banner reading Paramahamsa partly visible. The floor is grey tile and a green leaf lies on the ground.2006-10-21A photograph of a seated man with long dark hair, wearing a sleeveless saffron-orange garment with an orange cloth draped across his body, reaching forward to hand food to an older man in a white shirt and white dhoti who holds a small portion of cooked yellow rice in cupped hands. A steel bowl of the same rice sits on an orange cloth in front of the seated man. Behind them, several people in white and cream dhotis and shawls sit or stand on a light floor, and a microphone stand is visible at left. The scene suggests a prasad or annadan distribution.2010-10-12October 21 20062006-10-21A photograph of a seated figure in an orange-saffron garment with a red border, long dark hair swept back, smiling and seated on a carved wooden chair, extending a hand over a large metal tray of cooked rice or food. Probable Swamiji (probable): long swept-back hair, saffron ochre clothing and seated central position as the figure being served. An older man in white dhoti and shirt kneels on a woven mat at left, scooping food from the tray. Behind them, several people in white and cream clothing stand, including a woman in a maroon sari and women in white saris; a man holds a yellow-edged cloth. Seven to eight people are visible in total.2006-10-21A photograph of a seated man in an orange and red saffron garment with a long, swept-back hairstyle, sitting on a carved wooden chair and extending his arm toward a kneeling young man in white dhoti and shirt. The kneeling man holds a small portion of food, and a metal plate in the seated man's lap holds more rice. Around them, standing people wear white dhotis and shawls, and a woman in a red and gold sari stands at left, while another woman in white stands at right beside steel pots and serving trays. A printed portrait on the wall reads Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda. Banana leaves with rice lie on the floor in front of the chair, and woven mats cover the floor. The scene suggests a prasad or food-offering moment in an ashram hall; a person with long swept-back hair in saffron clothing is present, so the Swamiji (probable) label applies to the seated figure.2006-10-21A food distribution line under a canopy at an ashram-style outdoor setting.
