Outdoor procession at a festival site during a Brahmotsavam, with devotees carrying a long-poled ceremonial banner and a peacock-feather fan. The banner is red and dark blue with fringed tassels and the partly visible word 'Peetam'. A man in the foreground wears a white garment, an orange shawl and a long white and orange jasmine garland, and holds a pole. Behind him a woman in white with an orange shawl and a man in white with a rudraksha mala hold poles and a bag of white flowers. Dusty ground, tents and a tree appear in the background, and a few people are dressed in white.

A central figure in orange robes and a flower garland with a tricolour-striped band walks forward, bare-chested with long swept-back hair, adorned with ceremonial jewellery; the appearance cues are distinctive, so this is a person figure in the procession. Around him, ashram members wear white dhotis and orange shawls, and women in white saris with orange shawls carry a large white fly-whisk-like chamara and a peacock-feather fan with a red-and-gold disc. Orange flags and a concrete apartment block are visible behind the crowd.2007-12-25A procession on a dirt path moves through a rural setting with trees and a distant hill. Two men in orange dhotis and garlanded bare chests carry a wooden pole on their shoulders, which supports two small orange canopies decorated with flower garlands, peacock feathers and purple ribbons. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts walk alongside and behind them. On the left, a large ornate decorated float or banner with orange and gold colours is visible, and a saffron flag flies at the upper left. A man at right in a white shirt wears a rudraksha mala. Spectators stand in the background.2006-11-13December 27 20072007-12-27 +1 copiesDecember 27 20072007-12-27A photograph of a procession on a dirt road under a partly cloudy sky. Two young men in orange-and-pink lungis, bare-chested with flower garlands of yellow marigolds and white jasmine, carry a wooden pole on their shoulders that supports two small orange-roofed palanquins decorated with peacock feathers, flowers and purple drapes. Men in white dhotis and shirts walk around them, and a crowd follows behind. In the background a decorated umbrella or canopy with orange and gold tones is visible above the crowd, alongside orange flags. The scene appears to be an outdoor religious procession.2006-11-13
