A large hall filled with seated devotees dressed in white, viewed from behind, during a Guru Poornima event. On a raised stage, several monks in orange-saffron robes stand beside an ornate white and red floral-decorated altar or throne backdrop with a red and white canopy motif. Some saffron-robed attendants wave long white fly-whisks or chamaras toward the altar, and a camera on a tripod stands near the stage. Brass lamps are set along the stage edge. A large dark curtain with a projected image hangs behind the altar. No individual is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance; the central seated figure is not visible.2007-07-29July 29 20072007-07-29July 17 20082008-07-17July 29 20072007-07-29Photograph of a large seated audience in white clothes viewed from behind, facing a stage at a Guru Poornima event. On the stage, a figure in orange-red robes sits on an ornate floral-decorated throne with a red and white canopy, a golden kalasha-style vessel and brass lamps before it. Several attendants in saffron-orange robes stand around the throne, one holding a whisk-like fan. Above the stage hangs a large portrait banner of a smiling man, and yellow and blue patterned hangings frame the upper edges. Whether the seated figure is the candidate cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.2007-07-29A wide photograph taken from the back of a hall during a seated programme.
