A photograph of a large old banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a low brick ledge at its base, crowded with visiting children and young people. A girl in an orange salwar kameez and a woman in a red-and-yellow sari stand in the foreground; a girl in a white dress stands on the ledge near the trunk, and a boy in an orange and white shirt and a boy in a checked shirt are nearby. Several children hold small pamphlets. Lush green foliage surrounds the tree, with red earth at the base.

Many people in white dhotis and white saris walk across sandy ground, some carrying bags. Most are seen from behind, facing a standing figure in white near the upper left, presumably a teacher or organizer. Girls wear colourful salwar-style outfits: a white top with yellow star pattern, an orange dress, a pink-and-white print top, and a bright green garment. Some hair is tied with ribbons or flowers, and a few sit on yellow mats. A white flagpole stands at right.2006-05-04July 07 20092009-07-07 +1 copies
