A large mound of dried palm fronds and woven palm-leaf matting sits on bare dirt in an open yard, forming a rounded thatched structure. Behind it, a stacked pile of cut wooden planks and logs lies beside a blue-and-orange cart. Several people in white clothing work near the lumber, and a few trees, palms and a distant hill line the background under a pale sky.January 04 20122012-01-04May 27 20072007-05-27December 12 20092009-12-12September 2006 - Sindhanur flood reliefMarch 03 20072007-03-03May 25 20072007-05-25 +1 copiesJanuary 04 20122012-01-04December 15 20092009-12-15May 27 20072007-05-27A photograph of an open-sided thatched structure under construction at an outdoor site. A long, low roof of dried straw or thatch rests on a framework of bamboo poles and wooden posts, with diagonal bracing poles leaning against the sides. Beneath the roof, stacked metal pipes or rods lie on crossbeams above a concrete plinth with red earth exposed inside its perimeter. Palm trees and a leafy branch frame the scene, and a small blue structure appears in the background. No people are visible.2007-06-05Outdoor photo of a thatched conical roof shelter on a circular red-and-white raised platform in a green garden with orange marigolds and shrubs. Several people in white and cream clothing stand or sit under the thatch, some in white dhotis and white saris, with a woman in a dark garment at centre. A bright sky, palm trees and a green bench in the foreground complete the scene.2005-05-20
