A photograph of a long-haired man in a flowing saffron-orange cloth draped over his shoulders and body, walking barefoot on a dirt-and-stone path while holding a tall bamboo-like staff in his right hand, with a red tilak mark on his forehead. Behind him, a younger man in orange robes with a white forehead mark stands with arms folded, and a third man in white clothing stands further back. Massive banyan tree roots and trunks fill the background, with dry fallen leaves on the ground. The scene suggests a sannyasi procession or walk near a temple grove. The long-haired lead figure in saffron, with a staff and red tilak, fits the appearance cues associated with a person, but the face is not clearly identifiable, so the identity remains uncertain.2006-10-25October 07 20062006-10-07Outdoor photo beneath a huge, sprawling banyan tree with many aerial prop roots and thick spreading branches. In the foreground a long-haired man in flowing saffron/orange robes and a draped shawl stands barefoot holding a long wooden walking staff; he is Swamiji (probable), identified by long swept-back hair and saffron robes, with a distinctive sannyasi presentation. Beside him a man in orange dhoti and shawl stands with arms folded and a tilak on his forehead, and a third man in white clothing stands further back at right. A green garlanded decorated object and a dark polished stone slab appear at the lower edges of the frame on bare sandy ground.2006-10-25A photograph of a massive old banyan tree with many thick aerial roots hanging from its wide spreading branches, standing on sandy ground. A man in a long orange robe with an orange shawl stands smiling at the trunk on the right, with long dark hair and a slight build, and appears to be an in_person candidate only by an orange robe and long hair, which is not distinctive enough to confirm identity; he is described as a sannyasi. Two other men in white dhotis with orange shawls stand at the left edge, partly cropped. A purple and white logo appears in the upper left corner.2006-10-07Outdoor photo beneath a huge ancient banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches hanging over sandy ground and fallen leaves. Four men stand together in the foreground: three wear saffron-orange robes and one, on the far right, has long swept-back dark hair and gestures with his right arm toward the tree. A white-clad man with a white shawl stands between them with a lanyard. Two more people in white and light clothing stand far left near a low platform.2006-10-25A figure in a flowing saffron-orange wrap walks outdoors on bare earth beneath a leafy tree with pale flowering sprigs, holding a long wooden walking stick in the right hand. A red mark is visible on the forehead. Behind, several people in white clothing stand near the trees, and at right a barefoot person in white ritual dress is visible. The setting appears to be a rural temple grounds during construction or ceremony.2006-10-25A photograph beneath a large, sprawling banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and dense canopy, on a sandy red-earth clearing with rocks. In the foreground a man in white clothes with an orange shawl stands facing right. Beside him, a bare-chested man in orange dhoti and orange shawl stands on a rock with his back to the camera, long dark hair falling down. Behind them an older man in white clothes stands near the trunk. A few other people in white and orange are partly visible at the left edge. The faces of the people are not shown in detail. No identity is confirmed from appearance; the bare-chested figure with long hair and orange garments is a candidate only, with uncertain appearance.2006-10-07October 25 20062006-10-25April 19 20062006-04-19November 05 20132013-11-05October 07 20062006-10-07Outdoor photo beneath a large spreading banyan tree with dense green canopy and aerial roots.
