A photograph of a temple scene in which a man with long dark hair, bare-chested and wearing a white dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl and a white flower garland, stands at left touching the forehead of a large gilded deity murti. The murti is seated on a maroon satin-draped platform, wearing an ornate crown, a jewelled necklace, a rudraksha mala and gold armour, with a trident beside it. Yellow and magenta flower garlands surround the golden arched backdrop, and a silver lamp stand with a bird motif appears at right. The scene suggests a puja or abhishekam-style rite at a temple shrine.2010-01-02A photograph of a gilded seated deity murti at a temple, dressed with a red turban, ornate gold armour, jewelled necklaces and a rudraksha-style mala, holding a staff and raised hand. A priest in white dhoti with gold border and a white flower garland on his head stands at left, touching the forehead of the murti with his hand. The golden murti wears an ornate crown, a red headcloth, layered jewelled necklaces and a black beaded mala, while one hand holds a staff. The murti is surrounded by yellow, purple and magenta marigold garlands and an elaborate gold arch. At the left edge a tray of green fruit and flower garlands is visible, and at the right a silver lamp stand with a bird motif stands near the murti. The scene appears to be a temple worship moment at an altar.2010-01-02 +1 copiesA priest in white dhoti and cream shawl with a gold-bordered cloth stands with his back to the camera, touching the golden face of a deity murti seated in ornate crown and jewelry. The murti is adorned with white and multicoloured garlands and a gold-and-red jewelled breastplate. Behind him the decorated altar is framed by red drapery and rows of marigold, rose and jasmine garlands, with brass oil lamps lit at the lower left. Another figure in orange silk sits beside the deity.2012-05-02A man with long dark hair and an orange-saffron cloth bends forward at a golden temple shrine, pressing his hands and forehead against a tall golden linga-shaped object draped with yellow and purple marigold garlands. Behind him stands a golden deity murti in a gilded arch with floral garlands, and a white figure in blue draped garments with a garland sits at the left edge. Golden kalasha-style pots and a brass lamp sit on the platform, with a green-and-gold bordered cloth hanging down. The scene looks like a temple puja or abhishekam, with the man in orange performing reverence. The man's appearance is compatible with a long-haired saffron-clad presentation, but the cues are not distinctive enough to confirm identity.2010-02-12October 28 20062006-10-28A photograph of a temple ritual in which a man with long dark hair, a rust-orange turban, bare chest, orange shawl and a white flower garland touches the forehead of a gilded deity murti with his right hand. The gold-coloured murti wears a golden crown, a gold necklace and flower garlands of white jasmine and red roses. Behind it stand arches decorated with yellow marigolds, red roses, green leaves and white and blue flower clusters, and a gold-embossed backdrop. Gold bangles circle the man's wrist. A second attendant stands at the left edge. The setting suggests an abhishekam or padapuja-style darshan. Appearance-based cues: long swept-back hair, orange turban and shawl, and gold ornaments; the label is probable, with the role of the man presenting the offering and anointing the deity.2016-12-23A figure in an orange saffron garment with a long flowing black hair and a garland of yellow, red, purple and white flowers around the neck stands at left, one hand raised and touching the face of a golden deity murti. The murti wears a tall golden crown, golden ornaments and a golden necklace and is also draped with a multicoloured flower garland in yellow, white, red, purple and green. The setting is a gold-framed shrine with an ornate golden arch behind. Swamiji (probable) figure is the orange-clad man performing the act of worship at the murti, identified by long hair, saffron clothing and flower garlands.2009-12-23February 09 20122012-02-09November 18 20152015-11-18A figure seen from behind in a sleeveless orange saffron garment with long dark hair and a multicoloured garland of yellow, white, red, green and purple flowers around the neck. The figure reaches toward a large golden deity murti with a tall ornate crown, a gold face and rich jewellery, tending its face or forehead with the hand. Gold ornamental arches, a gold-handled trident-like staff and garlanded gold decoration surround the murti, with a dark red curtain behind. The scene appears to be an image-worship or pooja setting in a temple-style hall.2009-12-23
