A photograph of men queued in a bare whitewashed room for a meal service. Several servers in white shirts and white dhotis hold steel plates and ladle food from a long metal table near an open doorway. Queuing men wear pale blue, striped, checked lungi and orange cloth, and some carry plates of rice. A woman in a blue and red sari stands at the left edge. The scene looks like annadhaan food distribution. No one is identifiable as a person from the visible cues.2011-12-08December 08 20112011-12-08December 16 20062006-12-16October 12 20082008-10-12March 26 20082008-03-262005 - NSP IN TAMIL NADUJune 17 20082008-06-17Indoor hall with yellow-washed walls, a wooden-beamed tiled roof and ceiling fans. Many people in white and light clothing sit at long steel tables and rows of blue plastic chairs, eating from metal plates. Women in saris, including a yellow sari and an orange sari, stand carrying plates and serving or moving between tables. A man in a striped shirt walks through the aisle. A woman in teal sits on the floor at lower left with a plate, and a man in white sits cross-legged on the floor at lower centre. Badges hang from some necks. A poster is pinned to the left wall.2008-06-20A photograph of a large dining hall with a long grey steel table in the foreground where many women sit on stools eating from stainless steel plates and bowls. Many women wear white saris with coloured borders and white blouses, while others wear pink, yellow, orange and blue saris. Several women in the foreground have hair in long plaits, and one wears a white top with a yellow sari. Overhead ceiling fans, fluorescent lights and beige tiled walls frame the room. The setting suggests an annadan meal service at a large gathering.2006-12-16
