Night photograph of a fire ritual on a dark outdoor ground. Flames rise from a bed of logs in the foreground, with sparks and smoke drifting upward. A figure in a red and dark cloth wrap stands at the centre, holding a tall ornate staff topped with a curved metal ceremonial implement that resembles a trident-like or bow-like form. On the left, a man in white clothing with a rudraksha-style necklace stands near the fire, and another person in white kneels behind the flames. Several onlookers in lighter clothing stand at the right edge in the dark, some wearing lanyards. The ritual appears to be a homa or fire offering.2010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11January 02 20162016-01-02November 11 20102010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11Night photograph of a fire performance with sparks and flames. A performer on a bamboo platform or raised structure is surrounded by bright fire spraying from torches or flaming props, with sparks shooting upward on the right. In the background a crowd of standing spectators watches; several wear white clothing and some have lanyards around their necks. A man in white kneels at the lower right near the bamboo base. No identifiable a person figure is clearly visible, and the performer's appearance is too obscured by flame and darkness to assess.2010-11-11November 11 20102010-11-11
