Night outdoor scene at a street procession or ritual gathering. A large dense crowd of women, girls and children, many in saris and salwar kameez in blue, pink, orange and green, presses behind a long wooden table laden with offerings: brass and steel bowls and trays holding halved coconuts, bananas, white coconut pieces, flowers, betel leaves and sweets. At the left edge a man in white clothing stands partly visible, holding a garland. A golden ornate pillar frames the right side. A tall bamboo pole and a woven yellow basket sit on the table, and a small child in red is held up near the centre. Shop awnings and strings of lights are visible behind the crowd.
