Many men in white dhotis and white shirts walk and dance, some carrying long wooden poles and flagged staffs with yellow and orange banners. A man in a grey shirt beats a large drum on a strap, and a tall ornate chariot with an orange canopy appears in the distance. Dust and bright haze fill the open field, with a few onlookers in the foreground.2010-01-01December 31 20082008-12-31A long procession of people in white dhotis and white saris walks along a dirt track through dry, freshly ploughed fields toward a line of palm trees. A man in the foreground at left carries a barrel drum with a red strap, and another man in white stands at far left. Several ornate colourful umbrellas or canopies with decorative fringes rise above the crowd, and a few women carry flowers and small offerings. Children walk among the marchers, and a man in a grey shirt and trousers walks near the front. A few onlookers stand at the right edge beside the field.2007-08-17January 01 20122012-01-01
